Discussion on inclusion of Transgender in society held

Agartala, 4th March 2025 :   A discussion on the inclusion of transgender individuals in society was held at the Gomati Zilla Parishad today. The meeting was organized by the District Inspector of Social Education under the supervision of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education following government directives. Officials from various departments, including Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Debal Debroy, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairman Shital Chandra Majumdar, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer and officials from the Social Welfare and Social Education Department took part in the discussion.

The meeting aimed to promote the social inclusion of transgender individuals and clear misconceptions about them. It focused on how to help them establish themselves in society. The District Inspector of Social Education organized the meeting under the supervision of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education to ensure that government policies on transgender welfare were properly discussed and implemented.

During the discussion, Sneha Gupta said, “Transgender individuals are part of this society just like everyone else. The government has decided to support them instead of neglecting them. We must all work together to ensure their social inclusion.”

Later, Sabhadipati Debroy said, “Workshops like these help in clearing misconceptions people might have about the transgender community. It also makes it easier for society to accept and support them in becoming equal members of our community.”
