Dog byte injures four-year-old, panic grips

Agartala, 26th March 2024 : In a harrowing incident in the serene locality of Shitalali area, Ward No. 5 of Ballabpur Gram Panchayat, under the jurisdiction of Amtali police station, fear has gripped the hearts of residents following a rabid bite of a mad dog that left a four-year-old child seriously injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the tranquil ambiance of the area was shattered when the child fell victim to the dog’s attack. The entire neighborhood was sent into a frenzy as news of the incident spread like wildfire.

 A distraught woman, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the locality had been under duress for several days due to the presence of a stray dog suspected to be rabies infected. The same canine, she alleged, had attacked the innocent child, inflicting grave injuries before the family rushed him to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Since the distressing event, panic has taken hold of Shitalali area, with residents expressing concern over the safety of their families and pets.
