Don’t collect puja subscription forcefully: ICA Minister to Clubs

Agartala: September 18. ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today gave stern warning to puja organizers not to collect subscription forcefully from people during Durga Puja.A meeting was held today afternoon at Jirania Agnibina Hall with representatives of various clubs and puja committees on the occasion of upcoming Durga Puja.

Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury presided over the meeting. In the meeting, the Minister urged the organizers of clubs and puja committees to organize Sharadotsav in a fair and beautiful manner by following all the rules and regulations of the administration.

He said in the meeting that everyone should be careful to avoid any untoward incident with the subscription.

The Minister also appealed to the puja organizers not to stop the vehicles and collect any kind of subscription forcefully. Besides, care should be taken to ensure that the emersion of Durga Puja is done properly.

Jiban Krishna Acharya, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jirania Sub-Division, said in the meeting, Sharad Samman will be organized after the puja. Puja Committees will be awarded in various categories. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Himadri Prasad Das, Social Worker Gouranga Bhowmik among others discussed in the meeting. Jirania Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Ratan Kumar Das, Ranirbazar Municipal Council Chairperson Aparna Shur Das, Vice Chairperson Prabir Kumar Das, Jirania Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Pritam Debnath along with officials of various departments and representatives of various sub-division puja committees were present.
