Agartala, 24th June 2025: Dr Utpal Dey, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sepahijala, CAU (I), Latiacherra, Tripura, was conferred the prestigious Best KVK Professional Award – 2025 by the ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone-VII, Umiam. The recognition comes in honour of his exceptional professional excellence and significant contributions toward disseminating location-specific advanced agricultural technologies, promoting on-farm innovations, and delivering impactful extension services to the farming communities of Sepahijala district, Tripura.
The award was presented during the IXth Foundation Day celebration of ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII, held on 24th June 2024 at Umiam. The event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Dr M. Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of Meghalaya; Dr Bidyut Chandan Deka, Vice-Chancellor, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat; Dr A. K. Tripathi, Former Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII; J. R. Blah, General Manager, NABARD, Shillong; J. C. Lyngdoh, Director, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Meghalaya; Dr Sandeep Ghatak, Director, ICAR-RC-NEH, Umiam; and Dr Amulya Kumar Mohanthy, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam.
