Agartala, 24th June 2025: :Responding to a request from Agartala Press Club President Pranab Sarkar, two members of the state cabinet have stepped forward to assist in the renovation of two press clubs in Tripura, offering a boost to press infrastructure in the state.
Cooperation Minister Shuklacharan Noatia has taken the initiative to renovate the Jampuijala Press Club. The club, which plays a vital role in representing the tribal community, has been reconstructed with improved facilities and new furniture under the minister’s direction. President Sarkar had personally appealed for its renovation.
Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has provided financial assistance for the long-overdue renovation of the Sabroom Press Club, which had been in a dilapidated state for years. Today, the minister handed over the financial support to the club officials in Sabroom.
Pranab Sarkar has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to both ministers for their contributions towards improving the working environment of journalists in these remote areas.
In a separate development, the wife of senior Kumarghat-based journalist Ashu Pal has passed away. Acknowledging the situation, ARD Minister Sudhangshu Das and local MLA Bhagaban Das extended financial support to the grieving family. Sarkar thanked both leaders for their timely assistance during the difficult time.
