Agartala, 31st May 2025: A shocking incident took place in the Tablabari area under Madhya Ganki Gram Panchayat today at around 2 PM, where a son allegedly killed his father after being denied money to fuel his drug addiction.
It is reported that the accused Sajal Tanti, a long-time drug addict attacked his father Bhim Tanti, a daily wage laborer with a sharp weapon after a heated argument over money. When Bhim refused to give him money, Sajal allegedly assaulted him brutally and struck his head leaving him in a pool of blood.
Locals, upon witnessing the horrific scene, immediately alerted the fire department. Fire service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued Bhim in a severely injured state. He was first taken to Khowai District Hospital, but due to the critical nature of his injuries, doctors referred him to GB Hospital in Agartala.
“Sajal had just returned from the Mental Health Hospital in Agartala after undergoing treatment. Despite that, he remained violent and frequently assaulted his father for money,” a local resident stated.
The Khowai Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
