Agartala, 31st May 2025: In a commendable effort to promote sports and physical development among school children, sports equipment was distributed to 10 schools across various districts of Tripura today. The initiative was jointly undertaken by Tripura Gramin Bank and the OBC Welfare Department.
A special distribution program was organized at the office of the OBC Welfare Department, where Tapas Roy, Secretary of the OBC Welfare department; Tapas Majumdar, Chairman of the OBC Corporation; and Satyendra Singh, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank graced the occasion. During the event, the guests ceremoniously handed over the sports equipment to the representatives of the selected schools.
Speaking to the media, Secretary Tapas Roy said, “Tripura Gramin Bank has taken this initiative as part of its social responsibility. It is heartening to see institutions coming forward to support the youth.” He added that the state of Tripura is home to 44 OBC communities and the department is undertaking a variety of welfare activities for their upliftment.
“From scholarships to developmental schemes, we are committed to ensuring that the OBC communities in the state are given every opportunity to grow,” Roy emphasized.
