Agartala: August 18. The Molakhola Pistol Field area of the capital is witnessing an alarming surge in drug-related violence, as a series of unfortunate incidents continue to unfold. The latest event occurred on Thursday night, resulting in a clash between two groups and leaving four individuals injured.

The incident revolved around a dispute between two parties – Salem Miya and Bapan Miyan, against Ripon, Rasik, and Jasim, all residents of the area. Their disagreement stemmed from drug-related issues, which escalated into a heated argument on the fateful night.

As tensions escalated, the accused individuals, Ripon, Rasik, and Jasim, reportedly assaulted Salem Miyan, Bapan Miyan, and two others. The altercation prompted concerned locals to alert the authorities. Responding swiftly to the distress call, the police from Ramnagar outpost rushed to the scene to address the situation.

The police promptly intervened, rescuing the four injured victims and transporting them to the IGM Hospital for medical attention. Presently, the injured individuals are undergoing treatment at the hospital, and one of them confirmed the intention to file a formal case against all the accused individuals involved in the attack.

Local residents have voiced their growing concerns over the escalating unpleasant incidents in the area, attributing the rise in violence to the rampant issue of drug addiction. The lack of consistent police patrolling in the vicinity has contributed to the situation spiraling out of control.
