Agartala, August 25, 2022: Education minister Ratanlal Nath on Thursday inaugurated the inter-school debate competition ‘Vipralapta’ organized by the Shishu Bihar Alumni Association at 10 AM. Shishu Bihar Alumni Association vice-president Abhijit Sarkar and secretary Abhijit Samajpati were also present.
The topic of the competition was “Online education system is more effective than conventional class rooms for imparting quality teaching to students”, Altogether, 42 students from 21 schools participated in this year’s debate competition which is a record compared to other years.
The Education Minister praised the debate competition and the enthusiasm of Shishu Bihar alumni. The Vice President and Secretary of Shishu Bihar Alumni Association in their speech highlighted the Alumni and the debate competition on ‘Vipralapta’. The speaker of the event was retired judge and former member of TPAC Bibhash Kilikdar. Abhijit Bhattacharjee, principal of the School of Science, Sanjeev Deb, editor of the North East Colors, Dulal Chandra Debnath, OSD of the SCERT acted as judges for the event.
Debarshita Baidya of the Shishu Bihar School became the best speaker in today’s debate competition. Upasana Mavi, Kendriya Vidyalaya at Kunjaban bagged the first position. The first runner-up was Ruihan Hossain of Umakanta Academy (Bengali Medium) school. The second runner-up is Debarshita Baidya of Shishu Bihar School. Advocate General Siddhartha Shankar Dey was present at the award distribution ceremony. He also praised the alumni and the debate competition.Today’s debate competition ended with vote of thanks by Convener Chirantan Das.
