Agartala, 8th May 2024:   In a shocking display of cruelty and brutality, an elderly man in Kanchanmala area under Golaghati Assembly, identified as Raju Biswas, has been left bedridden and on the brink of death after being savagely attacked by his own son.

The incident, which unfolded near Kanchanmala SB School in Ward No. 2, has sent shockwaves through the community, revealing the depths of depravity that exist within it.

Raju Biswas’ son, Montu Biswas, stands accused of not only assaulting his father but also breaking his arm and waist in a fit of rage. Reports suggest that the assault was carried out with malicious intent, leaving the elderly man helpless and in excruciating pain.

Adding to the horror, instead of seeking medical treatment for his father, Montu Biswas, along with his mother Raju, allegedly subjected the injured Raju Biswas to further torment, treating him worse than an animal. It’s reported that the elderly man was bound with ropes and left to suffer in deplorable conditions. The barbarity of the situation was brought to light when the Kanchanmala village panchayat pradhan, Pradip Kumar Majumder, visited the Biswas household after receiving word of the inhumane treatment. Upon witnessing the appalling state of Raju Biswas, Chief Majumder was overcome with shock and disbelief. Raju Biswas, who lay bedridden and in agony, pleaded with Chief Majumder to release him from his bonds, highlighting the urgency and severity of the situation.
