Agartala, 29th July 2024: : In a bid to enhance voter awareness and participation, the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Election Office has launched a series of initiatives at Rabindranath Tagore College’s Electoral Literary Club program.
On Monday afternoon, an essay competition was held at Rabindranath Tagore Mahavidyalaya, focusing on the Election Commission of India’s role in safeguarding democracy and the crucial involvement of voters. Participants included students from the 15-Kamalasagar, 16-Bishalgarh, and 19-Charilam assembly constituencies.
The event saw the presence of Deputy Collected & Magistrate (DCM) Arup Kumar Chakraborty and other officials from the sub-divisional magistrate’s office. Winners of the competition will be honored during the Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
Simultaneously, a similar essay competition was conducted at Office Tilla Class XII School. Additionally, the election office of Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office distributed e-Patrika to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors. Present at the distribution event were DCM Saurdeep Debnath, Govinda Debbarma, Arup Kumar Chakraborty, Bhuban Das, and Election Officer Chanda Debbarma among others.
DCM Arup Kumar Chakraborty emphasized the importance of engaging citizens above 18 years of age in the democratic process through electronic roll awareness. The e-Patrika were handed over in the conference hall of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s Office, are part of this broader initiative to educate and inform voters about their roles in parliamentary democracy.
