Emergency meeting held at Sabroom to prepare for potential floods

Agartala, 1st June 2025:  With continuous heavy rainfall over the past four to five days, low-lying areas of Sabroom have been submerged prompting the sub-division administration to take early precautionary measures. 

This afternoon, an emergency preparation meeting was convened at the Sabroom Nagar Panchayat conference hall led by SDM Shibajyoti Datta. The meeting was attended by former MLA Shankar Roy, current Manu MLA Mailafru Mog, MDC Kangjong Mog, Vice-Chairperson Dipak Das and officials across administrative levels. 

During the discussion, the SDM Datta outlined strategic steps to mitigate potential flood risks. MLA Mailafru Mog presented a framework for proactive measures based on last year’s devastating floods. The administration assured vigilance and readiness to take swift action if the situation worsens. 

Authorities remain on high alert as weather conditions continue to be monitored.
