Agartala, 20th April 2024: The West Tripura Lok Sabha seat witnessed a robust turnout as voters flocked to polling stations on Friday to cast their ballots. Despite the scheduled voting hours coming to a close, the voting process continued in several polling stations, reflecting the enthusiasm of the electorate.
According to data released by the Election Commission, the average voter turnout in the West Tripura constituency stood at an impressive 81.52 percent. The Umakanta Academy in the capital city serves as the repository for the EVM machines from a maximum of 14 assembly constituencies, where they are meticulously guarded by central paramilitary forces. Surveillance is further bolstered by a comprehensive network of CCTV cameras, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring of the strong rooms.
With the voting phase completed, attention now turns to the eagerly anticipated day of reckoning: June 4, when the counting of votes will take place. As the nation awaits the outcome, the results will unveil the verdict of the people and determine the course of political representation for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat.
