Family and Hindu Jagran Manch protest police inaction in minor abduction case

Agartala, 13th May 2024:  Tensions escalated in Sepahijala district on Monday as family members of a 15-year-old minor girl expressed deep frustration over the police’s handling of her abduction case, which has stretched on for 12 days. Members of the Hindu Jagaran Mancha joined forces with the aggrieved family staging a protest outside the local police station.

The incident took place in Madhupur police station area shocked the community when the minor girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a youth from the Kamalasagar Mia Para area. According to reports, the perpetrator forcibly took the girl from her home and fled in a car leaving her distraught family to launch a frantic search.

“After searching everywhere, we filed a formal abduction case at the Madhupur police station,” shared a distressed family member. “But it’s been 12 agonizing days, and there’s been no sign of our daughter.”

Despite continuous communication between the family and the authorities, the police’s efforts to locate the missing girl have fallen short, prompting mounting frustration among the girl’s relatives.

“Throughout this ordeal, we’ve seen no proactive measures from the Madhupur police station to rescue our daughter,” lamented another family member.
