Agartala, 13th April 2026: Udaipur woke to horror on Monday morning after a family was torn apart in a brutal incident at Chandrapur Beltali. According to police, Ajit Das, a science teacher at Bottali School, allegedly killed his wife Rupa Das and their son Diganta Das inside their home. Neighbors reported hearing sudden screams at dawn, but by the time they rushed over, the tragedy had already unfolded.
Family members said Ajit had been struggling with mental health issues in recent days. Following the killings, he reportedly consumed poison in an attempt to take his own life. He was rushed to Gomati District Hospital in critical condition, where doctors are fighting to save him.
Radha Kishorepur police station staff along with senior officials quickly reached the scene and has launched an investigation into the circumstances behind the crime. Authorities are examining what led to such a devastating outcome.
