Agartala, 3rd January 2026: Sabroom witnessed a one-day “Training and Input Distribution Programme” today, focusing on best agricultural practices for Rabi Rajma cultivation in Tripura. The initiative was jointly organized by the College of Agriculture, Tripura, in collaboration with ICAR–Indian Institute of Pulses Research (IIPR), Kanpur, and Feni Agri Producer Company Limited, Sabroom.
The programme began at 10:30 a.m. with farmer registration, guest reception, and welcome addresses. Dipak Dutta, Sabhadhipati of South Tripura district, attended as the chief guest. Also present were Moilafru Mog, MLA of the 39-Monu constituency; Swapna Ghosh, Panchayat Pradhan of Daulbari village; Sudip Majumdar, MD of Bagmara Agri Producer Company; and Anupam Guha, Principal of MMD College. The session was presided over by Professor Debashis Sen, Principal and Director of the College of Agriculture, Tripura. Representatives from Feni Agro Limited, including Biswajit Majumdar and Prasenjit Bhowmik, also joined the event.
During the technical session, Dr. Abhijit Saha and Dr. Durgaprasad Awasthi delivered detailed lectures on scientific methods of Rajma cultivation, production technologies, and pest-disease management. Farmers later visited cluster plots of Rajma and black gram to gain practical insights.
The programme generated significant enthusiasm among participating farmers, who expressed renewed motivation to adopt scientific knowledge and modern technology for Rabi season Rajma cultivation.
