Agartala: September 24. In a harrowing incident that unfolded on Saturday night, a group of four unruly persons attacked five workers employed on an electricity project in the Rampur area, adjacent to the border Gol Chakkar of the capital. The victims, residing in a temporary dwelling on-site, were left injured in the wake of the assault.
Contractor Manidip Pal, overseeing the project, promptly alerted Police and filed a case with the West Agartala police station. The police swiftly arrived at the scene, rescuing the injured laborers and transporting them to GB Hospital for immediate medical attention.
Following the incident, on Sunday, Contractor Pal formally lodged a written complaint at the West Agartala Police Station, detailing the attack and identifying the perpetrators. According to Pal, the attackers have been identified as Kinkar Ghosh and Ashish Ghosh, with one of them allegedly armed with a pistol.
During the assault, the assailants made off with two mobile phones and Rs 4,000 in cash. The police are currently pursuing leads to apprehend the suspects.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the matter, vowing to bring those responsible to justice swiftly.
