Fire breaks out at rubber smoke house in Udaipur subdivision, no casualties reported

Agartala, 4th November 2025 :   A fire broke out this afternoon at a rubber smoke house in the Bagmara Gopi Chowmuhani Palpara area under Udaipur subdivision, triggering panic among local residents.

Local sources informed that the blaze erupted suddenly at a rubber smoke house owned by a resident identified as Jayanta Pal. Within moments, the flames engulfed the entire structure, sending plumes of smoke into the sky.

Upon receiving the alert, a fire engine from the Udaipur Fire Department rushed to the scene. Firefighters battled the blaze for an extended period before successfully bringing it under control. Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical short circuit may have sparked the fire, although the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.

Local residents joined hands with fire personnel in the firefighting efforts, helping to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby structures. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

The extent of the damage is still being assessed, but initial estimates suggest losses amounting to several lakhs of rupees. The incident has caused considerable alarm in the area, prompting further investigation by the fire department and local administration to determine the precise cause of the fire.
