Agartala, 17th March 2025:  A devastating fire broke out in a house near Pathalia Ghat Don Bosco School under Bishramganj police station today morning, reducing two tenant houses to ashes. The fire, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit in the power line, inflicted significant losses estimated at approximately Rs 25 lakh.

Upon receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Bishramganj Fire Department rushed to the spot. After prolonged efforts, they managed to bring the fire under control by connecting a long pipe to douse the flames. However, by the time the fire was extinguished, the two houses were completely gutted.

Sources revealed that the house owner does not reside on the premises. At the time of the incident, only the two tenants, identified as Sanjit Debbarma and Sajal Debbarma, were present in the house. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

Authorities have launched an investigation to confirm the exact cause of the fire, while efforts are being made to assess the full extent of the damages. The affected tenants have suffered substantial losses, and support from local administration and relief agencies is expected.
