Agartala, 10th December 2025:   The body of a fire service employee was recovered from a rented house in Belonia this morning, sparking shock and grief in the local community.

Police identified the deceased as Bappa Rakshit, a driver with the Belonia Fire Service. His body was found hanging inside his rented accommodation near Belonia jail. According to preliminary investigation, no family members were present at the house last night, and it is suspected that he took his own life during that time.

The incident has triggered widespread concern, with residents questioning the circumstances behind the alleged suicide. While the exact reason remains unclear, Rakshit’s wife has claimed that mounting financial burdens, including loan installments, drove him to the extreme step.

Upon receiving the news, Rakshit’s wife and two daughters rushed from Agartala to Belonia Hospital, where his body has been kept in the morgue. The family broke down in tears as they arrived.Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
