Former CPIM MLA passes away

Agartala: December 02. Former MLA and member of Mohanpur subdivision committee Haricharan Sarkar passed away today. He was the MLA of Bamutia Assembly Constituency for a long time. Besides, Haricharan Sarkar was the senior leader of CPIM party.

 For the past few days, he was undergoing treatment at GB Hospital for senile diseases. Today he breathed his last in the hospital. The body was brought to the CPIM state office where CPI(M) leaders paid their last respects. CPI(M) leader Pabitra Kar said that Haricharan Sarkar was a member of the Tripura Legislative Assembly for a long time. He was associated with CPIM from student movement. He was 74 years old at the time of his death. His body was also taken to Assembly where Speaker of Assembly Ratan Chakraborty, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath were present.
