Agartala: Oct 30. How do the state government employees celebrate when they get promotion in their service? Well, some may buy house, some car, some jewelleries etc. as per personal taste and choice. Here is a twist of the tale.
Altogether, 13 Assistant Professors of Ramthakur College who have recently been promoted to Associate Professors have decided to celebrate their promotion in a different manner. They have resolved to put up an Open Stage at Ramthakur College campus and on October 19, Mahashasthi, 2023, the foundation-stone was laid by the Principal-in-charge Dr Chitra Pal amid much mirth and enthusiasm.
The Open Stage will cost about Rs. 3 lakhs and when completed, it will have satisfied the long-standing need of the college to stage different functions in an Open Stage.
A visibly overwhelmed Principal hailed the initiative taken up by the newly-promoted Associate Professors and said that the step was a pioneering one which showcased the Professors’ attachment and love for the college.
The Open Stage is expected to be finished by the end of the current year.
