Agartala, July 21, 2023: In connection with a kidnapping incident that stirred the locality, the police have arrested four suspects. The apprehended individuals are Ranabir Deb Nath, Deb Kamal Bhattacharya, Suraj Nama, and Prasenjit Nama.
The operation to nab them was led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Manabendra Choudhury and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Pannalal Sen.
According to reports, the incident took place on July 19 last when Manojit Deb, a resident of Gautamnagar, was traveling through the Bishalgarh Block Bypass area. At that time, he was intercepted by the accused who were riding three motorcycles. The culprits violently attacked him and forcefully took him away on one of the bikes.
Upon learning of the incident, Manojit’s family promptly informed the Bishalgarh police station and filed a formal complaint. Acting swiftly, the police launched an investigation and successfully rescued Manojit. The four suspects were apprehended and taken into custody for further interrogation.
The police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). They will be produced before the court for trial. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are determined to bring all involved in the incident to justice.
