Agartala,  10th November 2025: Four computers and several crucial documents have mysteriously disappeared from the Monarchak Panchayat office in Kathalia Block, raising serious concerns over possible foul play.

What makes the case particularly alarming is that the stolen computers contained all official records and data related to the Panchayat’s administrative operations. According to sources within the Panchayat, other valuable items in the office including older, non-functional computers remain untouched, suggesting the theft was highly targeted.

“This isn’t a random burglary. Only the active systems with sensitive data are missing. Everything else is intact, including the doors and windows, which show no signs of forced entry,” said a Panchayat official.

The selective nature of the theft has fueled public suspicion of a deliberate attempt to erase or manipulate official records. Local police have launched an investigation and visited the site to gather evidence and assess the situation.

Authorities are yet to determine how the perpetrators gained access and whether internal involvement is suspected. The incident has sparked calls for enhanced security and transparency in handling government data.
