Agartala Jan 07: Demanding regularization of services and hiked financial benefits, Caretakers cum Gardeners who are working at various government quarters and complexes including those of MLAs and Ministers, laid siege in front of Minister Pranajit Singha Roy’s official residence here on Saturday.
The protestors while talking to the reporters in this context said, “We are working amidst extreme weather conditions, be it scorching heat, winter or rain. But the amount we get as salary is not sufficient enough to run our families”.
One of the caretakers cum gardener said, “For long time we have been demanding regularization of our jobs and financial upliftment”.
On being asked about the response from Minister, the agitators said that they are hopeful of positive response with respect to their demands.“The Minister said that he has already sent the file and hopefully something good will be announced after the next Cabinet meeting”, said the workers.
