Agartala, October 18, 2022: The state-level science-based drama competition 2022 was held at Muktadhara auditorium here with the schools who secured first place in the competition held in each district.
Among the eight districts of the state, the drama of Golden Valley Higher Secondary School in Dharmanagar was interesting. The teachers and students here were confident that their school was the first from the state to participate in the North East region’s science-based drama competition at Guwahati. But when the results were announced, Melaghar English Medium School was chosen first and Golden Valley School, Dharmanagar was given second position.
Golden Valley High School students and teachers expressed their anger and said that Kunal Shil, who played the lead role in the English Medium School play in Melaghar, was studying in class XI. But according to the rules of this play, students from sixth to tenth class can join. The students and parents of Golden Valley Higher Secondary School complained about how the eleventh class student played the lead role in the drama.
Complaining in this regard, they gave deputation to the North Tripura district’s District Education Officer to ensure that the results are given correctly in accordance with the general rules. Not only that, they also met with the Deputy Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen and presented their grievances. Currently, there is an anger of the locals on the judges of the capital city-based on the result of this drama competition.
