Agartala: December 30. Claiming that after BJP formed the government there is a radical change in the education sector, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha that the state government is contemplating setting up another university in the North district.
Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating a new Law College in Mohanpur under the Jirania subdivision today.“Whoever has more knowledge will move forward in the future. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that those who have knowledge are the future of tomorrow. Hence the state government has given top priority to quality education in the state. Besides, the necessary infrastructure of higher education is being developed in the state”, said CM.
Education and Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, West Tripura District Council Sabhadhipati Antara Sarkar Deb, Jirania Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Pritam Debnath, and others were present at the inauguration ceremony.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the present government has made efforts from the beginning to make the students of the state at par with the students of other advanced states of the country.“Improved infrastructure of schools is being developed in various districts, subdivisions, and block areas of the state”, said CM.
The Chief Minister urged the management committee of the college to take initiative so that this law college becomes a center of excellence in the future.The Chief Minister said, “There has been a radical change in the education sector in the state. Currently, there are several universities in the state. The government plans to build one more university in the North Tripura district. The government has taken steps to build a medical college in TTAADC”.
In the event, Education and Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that education means life and Education means reasoning.“So quality education is required for better human resources. For the overall development of the state, the present government has given the highest priority to education, health, agriculture, and agriculture-related sectors. The government is working on various schemes to promote quality education”, said Nath.
At the event, ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that having a law college in Jirania has fulfilled a long-standing demand of the local residents. The college will run on a PPP model under the management of the Anandnagar Welfare Society of Howrah, West Bengal.There are 60 seats here. Out of this 20 will be reserved for students in the state.
President of Anandnagar Welfare Society Bishnupada Das delivered the welcoming address at the inaugural function.
