Govt believes in transparent policy for development: CM

Agartala, December 09, 2022: Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on Friday said that the government is working towards holistic development to fulfil the basic needs of the people in the state believing in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s path of Swachha policy.

Dr Saha inaugurated the first state level Shehri Samridhi Utsav at playground of the Kshudiram Bose English Medium School grounds on Friday afternoon.

This five-day long festival will continue till December 13 next. Members of self-help groups from 20 urban areas of the state participated with their products.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Saha said that Prime Minister is working for the overall development of the state by following this thought of ‘Vocal for Local’. During the tenure of the current government, the number of self-help groups has increased almost 9 times and a total 3 lakh 45 thousand women have joined the groups while Rs 347 crore 61 lakh have been given to them. With this, the development of socio-economic status of women in this state has gained a unique speed.

The Chief Minister presented an outline of improvements in the state’s roads, railways, internet communication system etc. He said Tripura ranks third in the country in terms of internet strength. The present government is working for the overall welfare of the people at the lowest level of the society by using the digital technology.

On the occasion, Urban Development minister Manoj Kanti Deb, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder and others also spoke.

The loan cheques were handed over to some of the beneficiaries during the inaugural function. On the occasion, the guests handed over certificates and mementos to 20 beneficiaries for excellence in the construction of mature housing under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) Project.
