Govt initiated several schemes for welfare of SC People: CM

Agartala, 1st January 2023:  Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Monday said that the state government has initiated several programs aimed at the welfare of Scheduled Castes.

 Dr. Saha said this during the inauguration of a three-day program commemorating the 110th birth anniversary of Adwaita Mallabarman at Nalchar in the Sepahijala district. During the event, he presented various honors, awards, and benefits. 

“Adwaita Mallabarman wrote about the people from neglected sections of society. One of his novels, ‘Titas A Nadi Naam,’ is particularly famous, revealing the societal conditions of that time. The thoughts of Adwaita Mallabarman Ji, who is popular for his novel ‘Titas Ekti Nadir Naam’, always inspire us.,” remarked Dr. Saha. While highlighting different aspects of Adwaita Mallabarman’s education and career, the Chief Minister emphasized the relevance of the poet’s writings in today’s society.

 The Adwaita Mallabarman festival has commenced at the Adwaita Mallabarman Smriti 12th Class School premises in Kematli, organized by the SC Welfare Department. The festival will conclude on January 3.

 During the occasion, Dr. Saha pointed out that both the central and state governments have undertaken various programs for the overall development and public welfare of the state.

 “Numerous initiatives are in place for the welfare of Scheduled Castes. The primary objective of the government is the development of all. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is prioritizing the welfare of farmers, youth, women, and the underprivileged. Various measures have been taken to encourage students from the Scheduled Caste community to pursue quality education,” he stated. 

Sabhadhipati of Sepahijala Zila Parishad Supriya Das Datta, SC development corporation Chairman Pinaki Das and MLA Kishor Barman were present.
