Agartala, 2nd August 2025: Shiksha Bhavan Montessori School in Baruakandi, Dharmanagar organized a special eco-friendly event this morning that blended greenery with grassroots engagement. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message “Ek per ma ke naam” and MLA Biswa Bandhu Sen’s civic slogan “Green Dharmanagar, Clean Dharmanagar, Love Dharmanagar,” the program aimed to foster environmental consciousness and civic pride.
Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker and local MLA Sen formally inaugurated the event where mega saplings were distributed and a newly constructed basketball court was unveiled. Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen graced the occasion as chief guest alongside local panchayat leaders, educators, parents and students.
The event commenced with ceremonial tree watering, followed by a lively cultural performance showcasing music and dance. In a well-orchestrated sequence, the basketball court was officially inaugurated and the tree plantation drive was set in motion.
A total of 118 students received saplings of various species, symbolizing both environmental stewardship and intergenerational responsibility.
School administrator Manna Sen remarked, “Such an initiative not only complements education, but is also an important step in creating environmental awareness among the next generation.”
Echoing this sentiment, attending parents and dignitaries expressed that the program extended beyond symbolism serving as a gentle nudge toward healthier and more orderly living.
