Agartala, 8th July 2024:   Serious allegations have been leveled against the headmistress of Takarjala South Higher Secondary School. According to concerned parents, Rimui Rokhung, along with several teachers affiliated with the ruling party has embezzled a staggering sum of Rs 5 lakh 70 thousand from the school’s funds. The alleged corruption has also disrupted the education system within the school premises, affecting students’ access to essential services such as midday meals.

The situation escalated on Monday when parents staged a protest by locking the school gate. The School Management Committee (SMC) members were reportedly left uninformed about these financial irregularities. However, the headmistress has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

Despite the denial, the incident caused significant commotion in front of the school. Fortunately, the situation eventually calmed down due to the swift action taken by the school management committee.
