Agartala, 4th May 2026: Tripura BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya today said that recent election trends in West Bengal indicate a strong desire for political change among voters and reflect dissatisfaction with the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Commenting on the ongoing results, Bhattacharya said the trends suggest growing public support for the BJP, adding that voters have expressed their expectations through the electoral mandate. He also said the party is confident about forming the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting his vision of a “Viksit Bharat” as a key influence on voters.
According to him, higher voter turnout in West Bengal shows strong public participation in the democratic process and indicates what he described as a demand for change.
Bhattacharya also extended congratulations to BJP supporters in Assam, Puducherry, and West Bengal, stating that the party is performing strongly across regions. He claimed that Assam is heading towards an absolute majority for the BJP and also referred to a BJP win in the Dharmanagar by-election, where candidate Jahar Chakraborty secured victory.
He further stated that the West Bengal elections were conducted peacefully and described the process as a notable achievement for the Election Commission of India (ECI), emphasizing the importance of free and fair polling.
Concluding his remarks, Bhattacharya said the high voter turnout in West Bengal reflects strong public engagement and a clear political message from voters.
