Agartala, 4th May 2026: Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Monday praised the Bharatiya Janata Party, calling its reported performance in West Bengal a “major electoral success”.
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and former Tripura Chief Minister and MP Biplab Kumar Deb for what he described as a decisive political shift in the state, claiming it resulted in a setback for the Trinamool Congress. These remarks reflect his personal political views and have not been independently verified.
Debbarma also commented on political trends in other parts of India, stating that the Left had faced electoral challenges in Kerala, which he interpreted as a broader decline of communist-led governance in the country over recent decades.
Extending his observations further, he referred to evolving political dynamics in states such as Tamil Nadu and Assam, mentioning actor-turned-politician Vijay and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, suggesting that regional developments are contributing to wider national political changes.
