House burnt to ashes at Charilam, gas cylinder blast intensifies fire

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, November 25: A fire broke out in a residential house in Rajib Colony area of Charilam on Saturday, causing panic among the locals. The house belonged to Abu Kasem Mia, who was not at home when the incident took place. He had gone to work, leaving his house locked.

The fire brigade received the news of the fire at around 11:30 am and rushed to the spot. However, before they could reach the scene, a gas cylinder in the house exploded, making the fire fiercer. The fire fighters had to struggle for a long time to bring the fire under control.

The house was completely gutted in the fire, along with all the belongings of Abu Kasem. The locals suspected that the fire might have started from an electrical short circuit, but the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The Bishalgarh police station staff also arrived at the spot and started an investigation.
