House vandalized at South Ganganagar, allegations of attack spark tension

Agartala, 25th April 2026:   Widespread tension has gripped South Ganganagar under the 55-Bagbasa assembly constituency in North Tripura’s Dharmanagar subdivision following allegations of vandalism and assault at a local residence.

According to reports, on Thursday night, a group of 4–5 miscreants allegedly attacked the house of resident Rupali Kairi Das. At the time of the incident, Rupali was not at home. Upon returning, she found her furniture smashed and household items destroyed. The boundary wall, doors, and windows were also damaged.

Rupali further alleged that the attackers physically assaulted her brother’s wife during the incident. Speaking to the media, she said she was unaware of the motive behind the attack but claimed it was carried out in a planned manner.

Later, Rupali filed a written complaint at Bagbasa Police Station, naming the accused individuals. Police have since launched an investigation into the matter.

The incident has triggered unrest in the locality, with residents awaiting the outcome of the police probe and the action to be taken against those responsible.
