Agartala, 9th November 2025 : A shocking case of suspected domestic violence has emerged from the Amtali area of West Tripura District, where a young woman, Beauty Das, was found dead at her home in Ashrampara under the Amtali Police Station.
According to police sources, Beauty’s husband, Jagannath Das, has been arrested in connection with the incident. The couple had been living in a rented house owned by Nandita Roy for the past two years. Neighbours reported that frequent quarrels between the two were common, though none expected such a tragic outcome.
On Sunday morning, Jagannath reportedly alerted neighbours, saying that his wife was unresponsive. Beauty was rushed to Tripura Medical College, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Upon receiving the report, Amtali Police, along with a dog squad and forensic team, arrived at the scene and sealed the area for investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that a heated argument may have escalated, leading to the fatal incident.
Residents of the locality expressed shock and grief over the death, recalling that loud arguments were often heard from the couple’s residence.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination, and officials stated that the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy report is received.
