Agartala, 3rd October 2025 : A fresh wave of concern has gripped Kailashahar subdivision following the mysterious disappearance of a housewife who left behind her husband and four-year-old son. The incident took place on October 1 in Ward No. 3 of Gournagar Gram Panchayat under the Gournagar RD Block, has sparked renewed debate over a troubling social trend.
Local sources informed that the woman is the wife of Tajudur Rahman vanished from her home without warning. On the day of the incident, Rahman had left for work as usual. Upon returning, he found his wife missing. Neighbours reported that she had informed them she was going to visit her ailing father. However, Rahman later contacted her parental home only to learn that she had not arrived there.
Despite extensive efforts to locate her, Rahman was unsuccessful and subsequently filed a missing person report with the Kailashahar Women’s Police Station. Meanwhile, the woman’s father has taken custody of her young son adding to the emotional strain on the family.
This is not the first such case in Kailashahar. Similar incidents of women abandoning their families have surfaced repeatedly in recent years, raising serious questions about underlying social issues. Sociologists argue that these disappearances reflect deeper societal malaise rather than isolated family problems. While police continues to investigate and take legal measures, local leaders emphasize the need for greater social awareness and dialogue.
The search for the missing woman remains ongoing.
