Human trafficking: Assam police apprehended two persons including Bangladeshi national from Mohanpur

Agartala, July 29, 2023: Traffickers have kept the state in the palm of their hands by making it a human trafficking corridor. Common people also think that some policemen are putting the lives of our people at risk. Finally, the police of the neighbouring state took the responsibility of the Tripura police and arrested the two.

It is learned that based on secret information, the Assam Police has arrested an accused from Boalia Para of Mohanpur on the charge of Rohingya trafficking. A Bangladeshi citizen was arrested with him.

The Assam Police arrested them early on Saturday morning and handed them over to the state police. The name of the arrested accused is Kajal Sarkar and the name of the arrested Bangladeshi citizen is Bishnu Chandra Mondal. Assam Police investigating a case came to know that Kajal Sarkar, who was involved in Rohingya trafficking, was staying in Boalia Para of Mohanpur.

Accordingly, a team of Assam Police rushed to the state. Assam Police arrested Kajal Sarkar from his house early Saturday morning with the help of Sidhai and Lefunga police stations staff.

Assam Additional Superintendent of Police Mithun Shetia said that nine Aadhar cards, two PAN cards and several Bangladeshi documents were recovered from the house of arrested Kajal Sarkar. It is believed that many mysteries may come out by interrogating them.
