Agartala, 17th June 2024: A tragic incident took place at Tripura’s Jhora Basti area in Gournagar under Khowai district on Sunday evening, where a woman was murdered by her husband. The victim has been identified as Ramla Jara (40) was allegedly killed by her husband Parimal Jara under shocking circumstances.
According to the incident report, the crime took place around 7 PM near the couple’s home in the Gournagar area. Parimal Jara reportedly drowned Ramla in a pond before beating her to death. Following the murder, he hid her body in his father’s house. Early this morning, Ramla’s body was moved back to Parimal’s house.
As Ramla lay dying, she attempted to inform the locals about the events. Witnesses immediately alerted the Khowai police station. Officers promptly arrived at the scene and arrested Parimal Jara.
The gruesome murder has cast a pall of mourning over the dilapidated slum, as residents grapple with the shock and horror of the incident.
