Agartala, June 13, 2023: Shocking allegations have emerged against Sanjay Roy and Babul Nath, residents of Khilpara Amtali area, as they stand accused of brutally beating a 24-year-old housewife, Rumpi Dhar, with a bamboo. The incident unfolded in Radha Kishore Pur, where Rumpi, originally from Bilonia in South Tripura district, had married Sanjay Roy after being involved in a love relationship.
Since their marriage, Rumpi claims to have endured daily torture inflicted by her husband. She further alleges that Sanjay Roy subjected her to physical abuse even when she was four months pregnant, resulting in the tragic loss of their unborn child. The situation escalated on Tuesday afternoon when Rumpi was assaulted by her husband and forcibly thrown out of their house amidst the rain.
Distraught and in tears, Rumpi found herself standing on the road, where concerned locals approached her and urged her to share the details of the incident. Sensing the severity of the situation, the locals promptly notified both Radha Kishorepur police station and Udaipur women’s police station. In response, the police swiftly arrived at the Khilpara area, apprehending Sanjay Roy and his uncle Babul Nath before bringing them to the police station.
The arrest of Sanjay Roy and Babul Nath has garnered widespread attention in the community, with local residents demanding severe punishment for their alleged actions.
