Husband Kills Wife Brutally Over Family Dispute in Amtali

Agartala, 26th October 2025:   In a shocking incident of domestic violence, a woman was brutally murdered by her husband in Amtali , sparking outrage in the local community. The incident occurred early Sunday morning in the Rani’s Khamar area of Jharjharia.

According to local sources, the victim, Adori Sarkar, was frequently subjected to physical abuse by her husband, Sentu Sarkar, over trivial matters.

On Saturday night, as in previous instances, the couple reportedly had a heated argument, which ended in tragedy the following morning.

Local residents discovered Adori Sarkar’s lifeless body and immediately apprehended Sentu Sarkar. They informed the Amtali Police Station, prompting officers, led by OC Paritosh Das, along with other police personnel and TSR forces, to rush to the scene.

Upon receiving the news, West District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak and Amtali SDPO Parmita Pandey also visited the site. The police recovered the body and sent it to Hapania Hospital morgue for postmortem examination. Sentu Sarkar was taken into custody for questioning.

The Amtali Police have registered a case under the relevant sections and initiated an investigation. Following the postmortem, the body of Adori Sarkar will be handed over to her family. According to sources, Sentu Sarkar is expected to be produced in court on Monday.

The incident has caused widespread shock and concern throughout the Jharkharia area. Local residents are demanding strict legal action against Sentu Sarkar and urging authorities to ensure justice for the victim.
