IGP Reviews Law and Order Situation in Gomati District, Directs Police to Strengthen Crime Prevention

Agartala, 2nd August 2026:   Inspector General of Police (IGP), Law and Order Branch of Tripura Police, Manchak Eppar, IPS, visited the office of the Superintendent of Police (SP), Gomati District, to review the overall law and order situation, crime control measures and progress of police activities in the district.

During his visit, the IGP chaired a high-level review meeting attended by the Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), and Officers-in-Charge (OCs) of various police stations in Gomati district.

The meeting held detailed discussions on the prevailing law and order scenario in the district. The progress of ongoing police operations, investigation of important cases, measures taken to control crime, prevention of theft, drug trafficking and other illegal activities were reviewed. Initiatives undertaken by the police to ensure the safety and security of the general public were also discussed.

Addressing the police officials, IGP Manchak Eppar stressed the need to focus not only on taking action after crimes occur but also on strengthening preventive policing through effective intelligence-based surveillance. He emphasized professional investigation, timely submission of charge sheets, speedy disposal of public complaints and ensuring citizen-friendly police services.

The IGP also issued necessary directions regarding police preparedness to deal with emergency situations, better coordination among police stations, increasing patrolling activities, maintaining public order and ensuring peace and security across the district.

At the conclusion of the meeting, IGP Manchak Eppar urged all police personnel to perform their duties with greater dedication, professionalism and accountability. He stated that Tripura Police remains committed to gaining public trust and maintaining a safe and peaceful environment for citizens.
