Agartala, 23rd March 2026: The Indigenous Peoples’ Front of Tripura (IPFT) has officially announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Election 2026.
In a notification issued from the party’s headquarters in Agartala, the IPFT named nine candidates for various constituencies across the state. The list reflects the party’s early preparations and strategy to strengthen its presence in tribal regions.
According to the announcement, the approved candidates are:
* Damcharra–Jampui (ST): Udar Ram Reang
* Maharani–Teliamura (ST): Dhananjoy Reang
* Ramchandraghat (ST): Swapan Debbarma
* Simna–Tomakari (ST): Rajendra Debbarma
* Amtali–Golaghati (ST): Bikash Debbarma
* Ampinagar (ST): Jashodharani Jamatia
* Raima Valley (ST): Charan Basi Tripura
* Nutan Bazar–Malbasa (ST): Pranab Tripura
* Birchandranagar–Kalsi (ST): Jitiram Tripura
The notification was signed by General Secretary Swapan Debbarma, who confirmed that this is the first phase of candidate announcements, with more names expected in the coming days.
The TTAADC election is considered crucial in shaping governance and development policies in Tripura’s tribal areas. With this early declaration, IPFT aims to consolidate its voter base and mobilize support ahead of the polls.
