Agartala, 2nd September 2026 : ISKCON Agartala is set to organise a two-day Janmashtami festival in the city on Thursday and Friday, with a series of religious and cultural programmes planned to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna.
The celebrations will begin on Thursday at 4 PM with a Nagar Sankirtan procession from the Purvasha premises, followed by evening Arati and the Adhivas ceremony.
On Friday, programmes will continue from morning till midnight, featuring various devotional and cultural activities. Similar celebrations are also being organised at Bamutia, Dharmanagar, Kumarghat, Baikhora and Palatana.
ISKCON said the festival aims not only to celebrate Janmashtami but also to promote awareness of Indian culture, heritage and traditional values among the younger generation.
