Agartala, 2nd September 2026 : A farmer in the Baishgharia area of Teliamura has allegedly suffered heavy losses after miscreants reportedly entered his agricultural field under the cover of darkness and uprooted around 200 brinjal plants.
The affected farmer, identified as Sadhan Majumder, said he visited his field on Wednesday morning as usual. However, upon reaching the field, he was shocked to find that a large number of brinjal plants had been uprooted from the ground and damaged.
Majumder alleged that taking advantage of the darkness, the miscreants deliberately entered his agricultural land during the night and destroyed nearly 200 brinjal plants. The incident has not only caused significant damage to his crop but has also put at risk the farmer’s months of hard work and investment in cultivation.
The incident has triggered anger among local residents, with people demanding that those responsible be identified and brought to justice at the earliest.
The affected farmer has also urged the authorities to investigate the incident and take prompt action against those involved.
