Agartala, 16th November 2025:  In a heartwarming initiative that blends devotion with service, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organized a mass food distribution event at GB Bazaar, one of Agartala’s busiest commercial hubs today. The event, part of ISKCON’s global “Food for Life” program locally known as ISKCON Annadan served sanctified meals, or prasadam, to hundreds of passersby.

Rooted in the Sanatan tradition, prasadam distribution is considered one of the five essential forms of yajna (sacrificial offerings), symbolizing both spiritual and humanitarian service. ISKCON’s Food for Life initiative aims to uphold this tradition while working toward a hunger-free world.

“Food becomes prasadam when infused with devotion. This is not just nourishment for the body, but also for the soul,” said an ISKCON spokesperson.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, many of whom expressed joy and gratitude after receiving the meals. Several praised ISKCON’s continued commitment to social welfare and spiritual upliftment.

ISKCON Tripura has been conducting monthly food distribution drives across various locations in the state. Officials confirmed that the program will continue to expand its reach in the coming months, reaffirming their dedication to serving the community through spiritual and humanitarian efforts.
