Jail road Durga Puja Committee holds Khuti Puja at Dharmanagar

Agartala, 21st July 2026;   On the auspicious occasion of Kharchi Puja, the traditional Jail Road Sarbojanin Durga Puja Committee (organized by Club Consensus) in Dharmanagar marked the ceremonial beginning of the upcoming Sharad festival with its sacred Khuti Puja today. The ritual, performed amid religious fervor and festive cheer, formally commenced the construction of the puja pandal.

Local MLA of Dharmanagar assembly constituency, Jahar Chakraborty, graced the event as chief guest, alongside eminent citizens, club officials, and members of the committee.

In his address, the MLA praised the committee’s tradition of presenting aesthetically designed pandals and socially relevant themes each year. He highlighted their commitment to community service through initiatives such as Daridra Narayan Seva. Expressing hope, he said this year too the committee would gift Dharmanagar and Tripura a memorable Sharad festival. He concluded by extending warm festive greetings to all.

This year’s theme is “Women in Renaissance”. Committee officials explained that the pandal will artistically portray women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and awakening in modern society.
