Agartala Feb 03: CPIM State secretary Jiten Choudhury on Friday went to Tripura Pradesh Congress president Brijit Sinha’s residence to hold discussions over joint campaigning by both the parties in a bid to secure maximum number of votes for the candidates placed by the parties according to seat-sharing.
Notably, the long-time rivals, Left Front and Congress have joined hands and placed candidates in 47-13 seat-sharing agreement for the assembly elections to be held on February 16.
As the parties have merged for defeating the BJP and uproot it from power, discussions of joint campaign and joint central public meeting was held on Friday.
Both the veteran leaders while talking to the reporters pressed for ‘Unity’ among the party workers and supporters for the greater cause of ‘Ousting the BJP’ from power.
The leaders urged party activists and supporters to forget the past and make efforts in campaign jointly to defeat the BJP in the polls and establish a democratic government in Tripura.
