BY TC News Desk

Agartala, June 15, 2023: A journalist working in the Sonamura sub-division was subjected to an attack by Tanmoy Das, a Class-IV government employee in the Aadhar section, while gathering news.

The incident took place near the office of the Sonamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate, an area known for frequent harassment. Tanmoy, who illicitly poses as a government employee in exchange for monetary gains, targeted Mohammad Mamun, a journalist from Sonamura, during his news coverage.

Tanmoy’s disruptive behavior and tendency to indulge in unruly conduct while under the influence were already known within the office premises. Furthermore, he violated the office’s smoking policy. The assault on the journalist occurred when he attempted to capture this scene on camera.

Numerous complaints have already been lodged against Tanmoy with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, and the journalist has filed a case against him at the Sonamura police station.
