JRBT Recruitment  : High Court directs to publish correct merit list

Date:

Agartala, 1st May 2026 :  The High Court has directed the recruitment board to publish a correct merit list within four months in connection with the JRBT Group C and Group D recruitment case. Advocate Arijit Bhowmik informed this on Friday.

He stated that four cases were filed in 2024 regarding the recruitment process. The petitioners, who are physically disabled, had secured higher marks but were allegedly overlooked, while candidates with lower marks were selected under ATPS and SCPS categories.

On April 30, the High Court ruled that the selection process was completely illegal and directed that recruitment must strictly follow merit-based criteria. The JRBT has been instructed to prepare a revised final list within four months.
